Injection Therapy – Corticosteroid £150

These can be an effective option to reduce pain and inflammation for specific hand and wrist conditions.

Including:

Osteoarthritis of hand joints, corticosteroid injections can help with pain management of OA joints

Tendinopathy conditions such as De Quervain's Tenosynovitis. This is an inflammation of the sheath surrounding the tendon, for which corticosteroids can help in reducing inflammation, enabling pain levels to settle.

Trigger Finger: Trigger finger can begin with clicking and progression of locking of your finger or thumb in a bent position. This can occur due to a thickening of inflammation in the tendon sheath causing a nodule to become stuck.  This can be managed with splinting and/or corticosteroid injection. At The Hand Physio Specialist, this can be managed fully for assessment and management.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Compression of the median nerve at the wrist can cause pins and needles and reduced sensation and pain through your thumb, index, middle and ring fingers. Corticosteroid injections can aid these symptoms reducing inflammation in the carpal tunnel and therefore reducing the compression on the nerve.

Splinting – £Variable, dependent on size of splint

We provide a range of custom-made splints designed to support recovery, improve comfort, or protect injured areas. Prices vary depending on the type and size of splint required.
